We have known Jim & Donna Klinge for over a dozen years, having met them in Carlsbad where our children went to the same school. As long time North County residents, it was a no- brainer for us to have the Klinges be our eyes and ears for San Diego real estate in general and North County in particular. As my military career caused our family to move all over the country and overseas to Asia, Europe and the Pacific, we trusted Jim and Donna to help keep our house in Carlsbad rented with reliable and respectful tenants for over 10 years.
Naturally, when the time came to sell our beloved Carlsbad home to pursue a rural lifestyle in retirement out of California, we could think of no better team to represent us than Jim and Donna. They immediately went to work to update our house built in 2004 to current-day standards and trends — in 2 short months they transformed it into a literal modern-day masterpiece. We trusted their judgement implicitly and followed 100% of their recommended changes. When our house finally came on the market, there was a blizzard of serious interest, we had multiple offers by the third day and it sold in just 5 days after a frenzied bidding war for 20% above our asking price! The investment we made in upgrades recommended by Jim and Donna yielded a 4-fold return, in the process setting a new high water mark for a house sold in our community.
In our view, there are no better real estate professionals in all of San Diego than Jim and Donna Klinge. Buying or selling, you must run and beg Jim and Donna Klinge to represent you! Our family will never forget Jim, Donna, and their whole team at Compass — we are forever grateful to them.
Wow. Seamless user experience. Excellent lighting and post work.
Nice pad, too. Not that you asked, but I prefer a rambling single story like this to lot-line pushing mock-Tuscans. Courtyard, view, pool, and a quick-ish jet down 52 to La Jolla Shores–this is going to make someone happy.
Jim,
It’s the future.
JtR:
That is some fantastic sales-generating technology for well-appointed houses. Crisp, clean images that really gives a person a flavor of actually walking through the house. Now if they could only add real-time sound and smell (especially for beach homes).
For not so well-appointed houses, I have to think this technology would show far more than most realtors would like to disclose or have on record.
As for the house, definitely not my style. That interior layout is clumsy (way too many hallways and doors) and looks far older than 2009 (maybe it is the furnishings). At over 4,000 Sq/ft. the architect was only able to allot approximately 40 sq/ft., shared with the pass-through hallway, for the laundry room? I would trade the entire gaming room for a decent laundry room.
From a buyer’s perspective, I hope this technology catches on. I am not so sure, though, how I would feel about having all this data archived somewhere online if I were to purchase this house. Security comes to mind.
Best of luck with 7249 Ocotillo.
a quick-ish jet down 52 to La Jolla Shores…
Yes, and look how much more you get for your money in exchange for a 20-30 min drive. In La Jolla this same money gets you a used 2br, 1,200sf townhouse!

Agreed, and buyers aren’t going to demand that listing agents furnish a 3D tour on every house. The sellers have to want this much exposure, and some will think it is somewhat intruding.
There is a second part coming though.
Carlos has a set of the virtual-reality goggles which we are going to demo another time.
It will get to the point where the 3D tours are common enough that you’ll be able to use goggles in a real estate office, or the comfort of your own home and experience a series of homes for sale and feel like you are actually inside the houses.
Once buyers get used to that convenience, driving around to see non-previewed homes and finding duds 9 out of 10 times will get old quickly.
I would be happy if listing simply included floorplans, which they rarely seem to, and which are much more helpful to me.
