We have known Jim & Donna Klinge for over a dozen years, having met them in Carlsbad where our children went to the same school. As long time North County residents, it was a no- brainer for us to have the Klinges be our eyes and ears for San Diego real estate in general and North County in particular. As my military career caused our family to move all over the country and overseas to Asia, Europe and the Pacific, we trusted Jim and Donna to help keep our house in Carlsbad rented with reliable and respectful tenants for over 10 years.
Naturally, when the time came to sell our beloved Carlsbad home to pursue a rural lifestyle in retirement out of California, we could think of no better team to represent us than Jim and Donna. They immediately went to work to update our house built in 2004 to current-day standards and trends — in 2 short months they transformed it into a literal modern-day masterpiece. We trusted their judgement implicitly and followed 100% of their recommended changes. When our house finally came on the market, there was a blizzard of serious interest, we had multiple offers by the third day and it sold in just 5 days after a frenzied bidding war for 20% above our asking price! The investment we made in upgrades recommended by Jim and Donna yielded a 4-fold return, in the process setting a new high water mark for a house sold in our community.
In our view, there are no better real estate professionals in all of San Diego than Jim and Donna Klinge. Buying or selling, you must run and beg Jim and Donna Klinge to represent you! Our family will never forget Jim, Donna, and their whole team at Compass — we are forever grateful to them.
Nearly identical to the Faulkner Farm in Santa Paula now owned by the Hansen Trust.
Hansen the beverage company?
Leave your card Jim!
Like I mentioned, the interior is near identical to this house right down to the giant pocket doors to close off the sitting room. This is one of those famous places you have seen many times but did not know it. Vignettes in dozens of movies.
The history of the Center begins with the Thelma Hansen estate. Miss Hansen, a UC Berkeley graduate, returned to Ventura County in the 1920’s and took over business operations of the Hansen family farm. Thelma developed a deep understanding and appreciation of the importance of agriculture and became an advocate for the conservation of natural resources. This led her to endow a generous portion of her estate to the University of California. Following her death, The Thelma Hansen Fund was created in 1993 to support and maintain University research and extension activities for the sustainability and benefit of agriculture and natural resources in Ventura County. The Hansen Fund operated out of the UC Cooperative Extension-Ventura County office until 1997 when the University purchased the 27-acre farm known as the Faulkner Farm. The Center is the newest of the nine Research and Extension Centers System (RECS) facilities.
I grew up in Carlsbad in the 60’s and 70’s. As kids, this house was rumored to having a witch living there. My mom and dad paid $17.5k in 1960 for a 3 bed 2 bath ranch at 2051 Janis Way. The home is now a two story. I miss the old Carlsbad like I’m sure there’s plenty of us who grew up in Carlsbad during a primo time.
