With a holiday weekend in full swing, let’s take another look at Tom’s old Victorian remodel in Grant Hill that we sold for $499,000 (full price) in December, 2011.
Here is my video tour of the oldest home in Carlsbad. The owners prefer if the buyer preserves the house, and it is only right – it is the only thing like it in town.
Hopefully the large 1.27-acre lot will enable the new owners to develop the remaining land to fulfill their investment, or just create the ultimate family compound!
Special thanks to Compass listing agent Gina Vreeberg for allowing me to publish this video tour of the oldest house in Carlsbad! @ginavreesellsre
I’m very appreciative of getting back together with Tom Tarrant, the all-time greatest home-renovator-flipper ever. Let’s look back at where it all got started in 2011.
This is the most incredible remodel we’ve seen in the blog’s 12 years together:
The Painted Lady closed today – for full price, $499,000 VA.
We knew that the buyer was fully engaged in the house (just by paying the full pop), but like we saw in Diana’s article, agents and sellers never know if you have a sale until the inspection is completed. But any hurdles are almost always due to the lousy quality of the inspector – click here for Tom’s humorous comments on the inspection:
Feel like doing a rehab? Here’s a sampling of what’s needed to complete a full renovation – five months’ worth of Tom’s work in less than nine minutes (now pending after four days on market, was listed for $499,000):
Sorry about the length of this youtube, but this house deserves a good look:
Tom has listed the home with JtR. We’ll both be there on Sunday, October 23rd from 1-3pm for those who want a closer look – and possibly buy it! Click here for the MLS listing with the full photo gallery.
