This is the type of stuff that happens every day all around us. Agents make no effort to hide their shenanigans – instead, they flaunt it, to make the deal.

As pointed out in the interview with the Canadian agency head, the penalty for such egregious behavior is deminimus when considering the potential gain from gaming the transaction. I would add without without active participation by those in the industry in not reporting those behaviors they continue unabated. Ethics are hard for some to understand and even harder for some to enforce. Who wants to upset the apple cart don’tcha know.

Wow. Are you sure that this was not filmed in Encinitas and not Canada?

A reporter and assistant DA could easily produce the same video here. The data on the worst offenders is out in the open too – anyone with MLS access could produce a list within minutes.

That list Jim would be ripe with “Elder abuse.”

Yes, and loaded with victims who don’t speak English well.

I have three favorite character’s I’ve taken away from this video.

The first is the man in the Lacoste shirt, whose bare arms highlight a definitive display of outrageous tattoos. His shirt indicates his personally held ideal that making himself comfortable is an important element in the real estate buying process, and the tattoo’s indicate that, though he very well may make an obvious, horrendous mistake during the buying process, he has the creative aptitude to reconstruct reality in such a way as to make the “mistake” feel like it was actually a great idea.

The second is the lady who apparently is a former resident of the former Soviet Union. Her accent from her home country is so pronounced, it leads one to surmise that she likely manifests the former Soviet Union’s well earned value system as a habit, which will likely be expressed as your agent at any opportunity, large or small, that she can detect.

And lastly, I liked the Officer of the Real Estate Council of Ontario, because his interviewee skills reminds me of one of my favorite comedic characters created by Martin Short:

This kind of behavior in SD is so rampant that it’s not even worth reporting. As others have said you could easily look at recently solds and point out obvious infractions.

Since this isn’t happening unfortunately nobody cares.
