Another look at new-home tracts and their success this year:

Jim, this video content reminds me of content you shared when you first started this blog and aptly named it Bubbleinfo.

I’m still stunned by the prices here. Your next step as a blogger is to knock on doors and ask these people, “WHY are you living here?” and, “HOW are you living here?” 🙂

Very interesting, thank you. I had no idea that was going on in the new home world.

Awesome video, Jim! I agree w/ BAM. Please knock on some doors and ask those two questions. Even with two incomes and low interest rates, I don’t understand how people can afford these homes at $1.9M. Are they putting less than 20% down payment?

And does a family really NEED 4,800SF?

I remember seeing a flyer years ago. The house was backed by those kind of power lines and the agent put: “Electrifying Views!” at the top of the flyer. I had to chuckle at that.

A better question would be why government pensions are so high, and why everyone ignores it besides lip service. If you retire at 50, making 1-200K in retirement pension, while working another government job.

Another question might be why employee’s get stock options that dilutes the value of shares for stockholders, allowing these lowly employees to purchase 1-2 million dollar homes out in the boonies, should they choose.

There’s a lot of questions like that, nobody cares about.

Whenever you see weird social curiosities, the chances are always high that there’s a “party” going on, and you’re not invited.

Jim’s old enough to remember when his neighbor could pull up in his driveway in a new Porsche. Jim would ask how his neighbor could afford it, since he was only making 20K a year, and his neighbor would say, “have you ever heard of a ‘pyramid party’? I can get you in on it, if you want. 40K in a week. You would love this car!”
