Two examples in Carmel Valley, 92130 to demonstrate how $1,000,000 doesn’t go as far as it used to:

For those who have access to the tax rolls, check what happened on the REO (second house in video).

It looks like the bank foreclosed once, which eliminated the second mortgage, then sold the house back to the same former owner, funding the purchase with a  97% LTV mortgage.  Eighteen months later they foreclosed again?

I would love to see more videos on houses in North Pacific Beach and La Jolla. Keep up the good work anyway Bubbleinfo. Anybody know of a blog like this one that covers these areas?

Gonna be hard to get $1.135 on 2nd house when a house in the low 900’s just came up on same street. Love you going through Bridle Ridge model home with alarm shreiking. You’ve got some juevos, Jim.

That’s why I’m addicted to your blog, Jim! I never know what adventures you’ll have! Alarm shrieking and you still give us a video…

Can’t believe they still have not found the missing polar bear….

Zilo – There is no other blog like this! Pink ties, house alarms, old Chevy’s & ice cream trucks cannot be duplicated.

    Juevos Rancheros?

I cover North PB and La Jolla – stick around, and there will be occasional vids.

We do need more looks of a certain rusted out 1966 Chevy truck though!

Lol! That alarm was a first. I think I like that better then the dead battery smoke alarm sound. Good Job Jim.

I like the layout of that second house. However, with the cement yard and the road noise I hope it’s a mile from the beach for 1.1 million. I guess what I really mean is if I was buying into a gated community for a million bucks I wouldn’t expect to get that kind of a house. It’s like a decent normal house and you pay about a quarter million for a gate.

How common are rattlesnakes in Carmel Valley? Just looking at the image of the backyard backing to the canyon makes me think of snakes and other critters that might be your neighbor.

    #6: Juevos Grandes
    #7: 2 miles from beach
#9: Rattlesnakes very common. In 10 years, have had 5 in yard. Dog got bit by one. Other animals common = coyotes. Jump over fences and eat pets (cats & dogs). Tradeoff for canyon vistas.

That half-wall is incredibly annoying. It deprives the room of space.

My new neighbor had their cat disappear within a couple of days moving into Carmel Valley. Literally there are coyotes prowling everynight. I ran into one about half an hour after sunset a few years ago, I figured they would at least wait until until the wee hours to come out.
