Retired people who don’t move usually stay where they are because they’re comfortable there. They’ll repair, but won’t remodel unless they have to. They’ll install walk-in tubs or showers, ramps or low-rise stairs and grab bars as mobility requires. If an old appliance needs to be replaced, they’ll look for a new one that requires as few changes in the way they use it as possible. The last thing on their minds when it comes to their homes is what’s “trendy.”
