It is bad enough that the demand for new homes in CV is off the charts, but look how close the houses are for the money – up to $1.35 million, and no front yard landscaping either!

What do you have against the flower garden? I was there last weekend and it was beautiful. Are you thinking “man, that land could be used for ocean view lots and I could sell ’em all!”

I always do since I found this site back in 2010. I watched all of your old ones back to 2007 too! I was flipping houses back in the crash, and kept the 10 best houses/condos for rentals. Until I found your blog, I had always assumed Realtors were ditzes at best or crooks at worst, judging by the ones I’ve worked with. I know my local market very well, but wanted no part of the Realtor ecosystem.
Your blog showed me that Realtors CAN be excellent and worth their commission and then some! There’s hope for this profession to live post-internet. I’m now seriously considering my Realtor’s license and will try to duplicate your principles and business practices here in the Inland Empire.
Jim, what is it about CV that makes people pay these prices for “homes” like these, plus all the MR and HOA add-ons? It just doesn’t make sense to me.
I assume part is the schools, but what else would make someone pay that much for what are otherwise not that impressive? (And I’m being generous there.)
Yes, schools and to be near family and employers.
Plus the new home is a very attractive feature for most.
All this time I thought it was the unobtanium deposits that made CV so expensive.
I hate cats. I love the flower fields but what I hate is the $15 per person admission. I cannot believe so many people pay so much to see them.
