That “carport” is hilarious. Gotta protect my precious, 8 mpg truck! I couldn’t tell if it had a decal of Calvin urinating on something.
Listening to you barrel up that hill, I was waiting for the clanking sound of a thrown rod. Memories of my teenage years.
What is it about boys and their trucks? First, we see that “gorgeous” carport protecting that black $40K+ truck. And then at the end, it’s JtR flooring his truck on the open road.
Hmmm, a race between that pampered truck and Jim’s humble wheels? I put my money squarely on Jim–$100K!
Com’on bubbleinfo heads, who’s with me???

How about my Ice Cream truck?

About the ocean view. I looked close at the video, it does look like there is a porch on the righthand side on the second floor. A little more than a window but not the full blown view.
Regarding one story homes… with an aging boomer population I’d expect the premium to become even more pronounced.
Me & my wife have always gone ga-ga over big two story places, but all it took was having a couple older dogs to realize that our ideal place will always be single story.
$20 Grand and you can build an external attached elevator to any house.
Jack, an elevator might help the humans, but those of us with aging animals need to stick to one story homes. I used to love two-story as well, until I hit my late 40’s and the knees started to be distinctly unhappy with stairs.
Plus….elevator…one more thing that breaks and/or needs maintenance.
Not to mention, good luck getting something like that approved as an aftermarket addition in some of the these HOA’s.
Teach the old dogs a new trick, how to operate an elevator!
Nothin’ like a “chevy” eh?
hey Jim that lagoon house is over near your ‘turret’ house. Did you sell that one yet?
Just out of curiosity in San Diego what if any is the price differential between tile roofs and shingle roofs? Given that a tile roof should last the life of the house, and also (if you are further east than these houses) reduces the risk of embers catching the house on fire, does pricing differ?
Wood shake shingles are no longer legal in SD County. If you replace a roof, it must be with something other than wood shake. So that eliminates them. Tile roofs are not “lifetime”. The tile itself is not the fundamental waterproofing element, that would be the felt and tar paper underneath. My concrete tile roof leaked, as have many in my neighborhood. Roof repairs would appear to be a fact of life, regardless of the composition.
The major price differential for a roof would be a heady subtraction for an older house with a wood shake shingle roof, as everyone knows it will need to be replaced in short order.
Thanks for the info. I was aware of the issue of improper installation, my sister in Albuquerque, had a tile roof that leaked, it seems that a lot of installers either don’t know how to do it, or cut corners. IMHO metal is best because its essentially a 50 year plus roof (as demonstrated by old barns btw) and also does not burn. But in Jims tours I don’t see many in SD.
