Our dog Bailey passed today, after a great 12.5 years. Seeing him go was tough on all of us, but especially the kids. We pulled out the old photos, and this was the favorite, from around 3 months old.

This seemed to be the appropriate song:

I’m truly sorry for you and your families loss.

Being a doberman guy (they rarely get past 8-9) I’ve been in your shoes before.

Deepest condolences, Jim, to you and your family. I had to put my 20-year old cat asleep over a year ago due to kidney failure. I still miss her–even though a new black cat is now with me.

They’re really like family! I’m glad you looked over old photos–and I hope everyone shared their favorite story of Bailey. Take care…

Our deepest condolences. They are full fledged members of the family and they leave a very big hole when they pass.

About 10 months after our Lab passed, I wanted to get another pup. It took me about 1 1/2 years to convince the wife. After a week of “puppy” in the house, I was wondering what the heck I was thinking 🙂 But, he’s a year old now and even though he still does pup-stuff, we’re glad we have a new member in the family.

It definitely took some time for us to think about another dog, and our kids took it hard too – that was the only dog they’d ever had.

Again, our sympathies on your loss.

A lot of people, when they first buy a dog, they think they’re just getting a dog, who later turns out to be one the best people they’ve ever known.
Condolences to you and the girls, Jim.

A man who doesn’t cry when his dog passes is not welcome at my campfire.
    Vaya con dios, Bailey.

Thank you everyone for your warm thoughts. There was many a tear shed by all.

You may remember that Buster Brown passed in 2012. Our girls have never known life without a dog, and it will probably never be the same.

Jim I am so sorry to hear this news. My condolences to your entire family.
