Maybe because it’s nearly midnight & I’m tired, but when I heard the developer say: “We can’t make it smaller, it just won’t work”, all I heard was: “We can’t make it smaller, we won’t make enough money for ourselves”… 🙂

“We can’t make it smaller, it just won’t work”

Then maybe don’t do it at all?

The opposition will be out in force, and the city council will feel the need to appease them.

If that is his only answer, he will have the city council backed in a corner and doubtful they will cave. Kilroy should be making a deal with the opposition prior to Monday!

The great thing about “just” a shopping center is, it’s a lot easier to tear it down and rebuild it later.

Business buildings work better in Business parks (away from housing for the most part), not right in the middle of them IMO.

If it needs to have customers in and out, it will work better in a shopping center anyway.

Corporate greed pure and simple. There are the board and the investors Kilroy answers to so every additional square foot squeezed out of the project means more profit. Why would Kilroy care about the burden this humongous project puts on the community?

His other claim that this plan is 2/3’s the size of the previous plan rings hollow too.

But if it fits within current zoning and planning requirements, he might have a case.
