I’m not sure a 30-minute TV show will change anyone’s destiny, but hey, at least they are trying:
As part of C.A.R.’s 2021 consumer advertising campaign, the Association has partnered with ABC to be the presenting sponsor of their new documentary, California Dreaming. The 30-minute special will air on KABC-TV, Los Angeles, KGO-TV, San Francisco, and KFSN-TV, Fresno at 9 p.m. (Pacific) on Saturday, Feb. 13. It can also be streamed online.
As part of this partnership, C.A.R. President Dave Walsh introduces the documentary, and closes out the film. Click the link below to watch the documentary’s trailer.

Wake me when C.A.R. comes up with a suggestion that preserves what made California special rather than tries to change it.
Looks like a quality production. I’ll check it out. Thanks for funding it, lol. 🙂
In seriousness, California’s biggest issue is housing supply. Aside from granny flats, not seeing any movement on that!

There has been a flood of senior apartments being built in Carlsbad, and I’m sure the rents aren’t cheap. Still processing what that might mean for the future.
Look at the “Senior Bulge.”

Expect a lot more senior accommodation. Could be more independent living, assisted living, full time care facilities but it will also be technology of tele-medicine, self driving vehicles, similar.

Regarding the impact on the real estate market, could we all be waiting for these accommodations to make it easier to sell the family homestead, and move into the right facility? It’s going to be a money thing, because the affluent can move now into the $10,000 per month joints – we need the normal people to move in order to loosen up the for-sale inventory. I still think communes could make a comeback!
Or some version of towns full of modular homes or at least infill projects?
