I can't overstate how strong the new home market is - this is not like 2006-2007 at all. That was good, but the peak froth was concentrated in 10 or so "exceptionally hot" markets...
Now - the ENTIRE country from LA to ND, or from WA to SC is on 🔥 like Vegas in 2006 https://twitter.com/AliWolfEcon/status/1364963372832276491
Today's housing wow: on a call with builders in the South and one just shared that they've raised prices at a community by $250,000 since....... January!!!!!! "All California money"

The best frenzy sale for February so far (+29% over list price), especially considering it's higher-end, but the month isn't over: https://www.bubbleinfo.com/2021/02/25/frenzy-of-the-month/
Have Mr. Fitch come talk to me.....California was downgraded to “overvalued” after a 7.1% price gain in a year — an increase that was only No. 30 among the states. A year earlier, Fitch graded California’s market as “sustainable” (properly priced). https://www.ocregister.com/2021/02/25/bubble-watch-are-california-home-prices-5-9-too-high/
I just installed a wifi-enabled garage door opener a month ago. My iphone beeps when someone opens or closes my garage door. I can also open and close my garage door from my iphone. Sure is nice for large deliveries. However the whole system can be defeated with a coat hanger???? I need to buy some zip ties in the morning. It pays to read bubbleinfo.com.
The announcers are paranoid about contributing to the thieves so they don’t come right out and say it, but this is the problem:
Thieves have been entering homes by knocking out the center window in a garage door. This allows the thieves to pull the release lever on the garage door opener. This is usually a small red handle that hangs from a rope which disconnects the opener and allows the garage door to be manually opened. Once inside the garage, the thieves enter the home through the door to the house which most people leave unlocked. Who would think of this?
Here are a few ways to prevent this:
1. Cover the center window in your garage door with a piece of plywood.
2. Shorten the rope that holds the release handle; so that, it is out of reach through the center window.
3. Lock the door from your house to the garage every time you leave home.
I don’t think the windows in the garage door are the problem. I’ve seen video where it looks like the intruder just pushes on the top of the garage door to make a gap big enough for the coat hanger. Seeing through a window makes it easier, but with some practice, it’s not that hard to do it blindly.
