This just closed today, along a popular stretch of North Rios where sales have been spotty this year – there were no sales all summer.

But once this went pending on September 19th, three others followed, all over $1,500,000:

Very nice finishes in the house but I hate walking in the front door of a house and getting an eyeful of the kitchen. I have friends with a similar (but smaller) layout and I just find it jarring.

I really liked the bathrooms though and I’m not a huge fan of vessel sinks in homes unless it’s a seldom used bath.

It turns out that I was there on the first day of the listing – the sign was up but I hadn’t seen it on the MLS yet. I was just driving by.

I think this is an ideal spec house for the area. Do huge rooms with minimal but tasteful upgrades and let location and scarcity do the selling.

@JtR #2, I really did like the whole house except for that kitchen “thang”. But, as you like to say, nothing that money and a quality screen wouldn’t fix.

Nice recovery on the “evidence” front. 😉

I don’t think I’d want to live with the baths for everyday, but they are really original and visually interesting. (Not the black bath, though–that’s just a bad idea.)

The kitchen is so-so (don’t like the loud granite), but this is an interesting house.
