Wow, that place is cringe-worthy. I’m sure that there is someone out there who will fall in love with the property. They will have no cash and bad credit, but they will be in love with the house and grounds. What’s not to love about an 11 car garage?
Of the 5050 square feet, how many are actually usable? It didn’t seem anywhere near big enough for the square footage listed.
Is it supposed to be modeled after some particular English country estate? Nobody would dream up that sunken entry separating the living areas without having seen something similar and thinking it was classy.
Not my type of house, but that flipper is kickin some major ass!

Very true. I think this house only makes sense if you entertain massively, and then, why is the kitchen so dinky?
I have a bit of a soft spot for the library area. Imagine a big cocktail party, the buzz of conversation coming up through those holes in the floor, and people escaping the crowd downstairs for a quiet tete a tete in the library. But on a day to day basis, with that big central hole in the floor, where would you stick the long tables with green-shaded lamps that belongs in this space?
This house doesn’t make sense without about a 100 people milling about.

Built in 2003? What a weird design. I respect the 11 car garage though. My guess is the garage would sell the house before the house sells the house.

Jim, What do you think is appropriate buyer price discount since it’s manufactured? Most buyers in this area expect traditional built, but a cash buyer might get a good deal. Financing manufactured will be tough, especially since not many “manufactured” comps.
No M.R., no HOA plus low taxes ($5710 paid in 2010)to boot.
Could anyone tell me why this thing only paid $5710 in property taxes in 2010?

Thanks for the tour, Jim. I saw this place a few years ago and had forgotten just how bad it was.
The former owners were trying to rent out some portion of it before being foreclosed. I saw one of their ads on Craigslist where they gave quite a flowery description of its stately grandness, the special opportunity to live on its grounds, etc. I kept expecting the writer to call himself “Lord _____.”
Lol! Thanks for the look inside this one. That is suitable for a bachelor with strange tastes or……um tear it down.
Two fireplaces and four big steps out of that front area? Why? The top part can’t be a play area unless you trust your kids (or other kids) to never shove their stupid selves through or over the railing :).

What zip code or neighborhood is this home in?
He just “re-freshed” the listing yesterday, but it has been on since February:

50% but that’s just a guess.

What a complete mess! It’s like a very bad game of SimCity scaled down to a single house!
I think I saw “scala” perform in the receiving room once

Are you sure that place isn’t in Glendale?
Where is the hedge maze??

I would tear down that house.
