Close Enough

In Cardiff, just one block away from the new-park site – though not much influence, if any?
It is a nice house, but anything that big on that small a lot is definitely a “McMansion”.
Why don’t they just take down that back ‘fence’ and open it up to the preserve? It’ll create a more open feeling and a cool experience….especially if you have kids.
I knew earlier tonight that I was a bubbleinfo.com addict because, after I had gotten done texting some people, almost subconsciously I went on to this website. And this is at a party at my school, too.
I can’t get away! I look forward to the day when (hopefully) Jim can help me find a house for myself and my family…..although no kids yet! And hopefully not anytime soon. ha
Jim, what did your buyers think about the backyard?
Was it a big problem, or not that big of one? I’m curious…..because to me, that’s a deal killer. Then again, I don’t have $1,400,000 to throw around.
Over 4,200 square feet? Although I love the nice-sized rooms and the south-facing exposure for plenty of light, here’s the question I’d ask myself: “Who’s gonna clean it?”
But with a $1.4+ mil price tag, I’d guess that question didn’t even come up in the buyer’s mind…
Not even a McView!
College Joe: You’d be surprised how many people are living in that open space. Scary to have the lurkers rummaging-about on your stuff in the night.
Peter,
That’s too bad & kinda scary….I didn’t know that! I’m not sure where this house exactly is, but there are some really cool homes backing up to a little canyon/open space there. This one house is a modern on that’s at tree level with big windows and some other cool homes. It’s all hidden too, I never even knew about it.
I love that area though. In high school, we used to run up and down a hill in that canyon for soccer practice. I always thought that it would be cool to own a home right there.
“Backdoor experience?” Whoops! :p
I was thinking the same thing as Susie. Who’s gonna clean it?
I prefer to live alone, and have very little company come over for a visit. I’ve been deliberately moving to smaller places over the last few years just so I can maximize my living experience without maximizing my maintenance experience. It’s surprising how comfortable you can live when you take the time to properly downsize your home size.
But if a McMansion is what you want, then this one appears to be amongst the better ones I’ve seen on this blog.
Most people who can buy a $1.4M house won’t have a problem paying $120/month for a housecleaner to spend 12 hours on cleaning.
