"Prices haven’t dropped, real-estate agents say" Joshua Tree, once quiet and quirky, is California’s hottest real-estate market. Bumper stickers say: “Go back to L.A.” https://www.wsj.com/articles/joshua-tree-once-quiet-and-quirky-is-californias-hottest-real-estate-market-11656840601?st=drh3neluhme5dc8 via @WSJ
I don’t even want to tell you, Jim, what I thought the price would be! You’d be laughing so hard you couldn’t appear on the radio show in less than an hour…
Jim, I can’t tell what you meant by “wow” on that price.
Listed just 4 months after the bank took it back… that’s quicker than I’ve seen lately. They asked $610k on the steps… no takers.
See, I had such high hopes for this bungalow. A weekend place, within walking distance of the beach? Sounds great. I was waiting to hear your first number be a three or a four….
I’m assuming that last shot wasn’t the view from the kitchen window…
WOW = That’s a $35K home dropped near a beach.
Location cubed … justme has it right: if that house were near the beach in Michigan, it would likely be $35,000.
Anybody have the link for it? I would like to see where it on a map.

$689k minus $35k = $654k
Yep… that lot without the house would probably sell for $650k-ish.
I had guessed $700k, because I know delusion is still pretty common even during this economic Depression.
