Ya know, if that guy who bought the house in the late 80’s had just bought it with a straight 15-year mortgage, he’d be living rent-free AND mortgage-free right now.

For $900k and change, that is a great deal, depending on the interior condition. If the house + upgrades/fixes can stay under a mil, that is a slamming deal.
