The 2018 rankings of the Best Places to Retire are out!

San Diego is ahead of other more-typical retirement towns like Charlotte, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Denver, and the only California city in the Top 50.  But there are twenty places ranked above us, so if you’re thinking of leaving us, here’s a guide:

    This is the first ‘best places to retire’ list I’ve seen where San Diego gets a mention. Usually we don’t make the cut because of high housing costs and high tax rates. Guess retirees are placing higher and higher values on great weather.

    Interesting list and methodology. Not sure if anyone else noticed, but it was literally the only CA city within first 50 cities listed (maybe more.)

    Though wondering when this was written? Last year? Or are they counting the Gulls 🙂
