Hide and Seek?

The photos of this REO look decent with the upgraded kitchen – but it unravels from there:

Call me insane, but I rather like the rabbit warren-like layout. However, I’d insist on inspection of just about all of the add-on spaces. I suspect all that stone tile flooring is covering up a lot of sins. And assuming they were doing some kind of grow operation, the electrics are probably hacked to shreds and need serious repair.

All told, the buyer should budget for some serious rehabilitation. But I’ve no doubt there’s a buyer for this house pretty much as it stands.

That was really funny….but that didn’t strike me as a grow room until you pointed it out!

Is that actually a putting green? It was hard to see. I wouldn’t mind a putting green….

Flourescent lights are closer to sunlight than incandescent ones. On that scale, it’s probably for personal consumption. Maybe it helps with making sense of the layout.

    Uh, ok, you’re insane ewhac.

That had to be formerly owned by Armenians.

Jim, what does the price need to be to sell? If you’re the selling agent, what’s your recommendation?

How much of this fine workmanship was permitted? What does the Assessor show for square footage if the permits are not readily available?

Nice Hydroponics trailer. Are you setting up a greenhouse Jim?

    Oh, fantastic Jim!
You really crack me up at times.

That was a good one Jim.

These were definitely pot heads. Multiple tenants too.

How much to update this place?

Maybe they were just growing herbs. 🙂

The kitchen is fine, you may want to add a gas stove? $1,000-$2,000.

If the buyers commit to one master and spruce it up for $50,000, and spend another $50,000 on pool, carpet, paint, and miscellaneous, then it would be a decent house.

No extra charge for jet noise.

Too funny. Probably okay if the location works for you and your commuting/lifestyle/family needs. It’s surprising how inexpensive a few international consultants with sharp chisels, pry bars and a dumpster can get cleared-out in a few days. Someone with a little vision could turn this around and have a good quality of life, I’d think.

Now that’s entertainment. I know someone that’s got a house like that (but no grow room!).

Like others said the buyer will either have vision or just be oblivious. And the electrical system must be stitched together with duct tape after all those haphazard additions.

Reminds me of the “abomination” house that used to be a old folks’ home, just with fewer bathrooms.
