    Checked Decatur for tax rates. Pretty onerous. https://decaturil.gov/departments/finance/tax-information/

    I’m also pretty sure I don’t want to be a donor to Illinois obligations.

    The generalized cost of living number doesn’t apply to many people in any area.

    Fun fact (to me anyways). My maternal grandfather’s paternal grandfather was the first mayor of Decatur.
