I still think that there would be high demand for decent-quality tiny homes around $50,000. Of course, all of these guys have options at $100,000+, but I caught a few lower-priced models today:

SDSU assistant Chris Acker just made us aware on @JonAndJim that over 50 former Aztecs that played for Steve Fisher and Brian Dutcher will be at the Final Four on Saturday. What an incredible bond.
Because few people service a mortgage for all 30 years (they get divorced, refinance, move or die), mortgage rates are compared to the 10-Year Treasury Note.
While Treasury yields have fallen, mortgage rates are stuck in the mid-6% area.
Huge spread vs. 10-year = 304bps.
These things all have the same problem as manufactured homes…limited places to put them and even fewer places where you own the land. Most spots you have to rent at 1k to1.5k per month. Even if you got a crane and lifted these into an existing home’s backyard you’d still have more initial expenses with power/water/sewer hookups and then rent to the owner. Unless you’ve got a sweetheart deal with a relative or something like that…how much cheaper are these really long term than simply renting or buying an entry level pad? And who could live in one of those for a long time besides someone named the Unabomber? The only upside I see is not having to come up with a big down payment. If they don’t sell, maybe they can hook them up to the Sky Ride at the fair.
