What I hate more about hot weather is trying to go to sleep when its still +80 degrees…yuck.
Time to make a swamp cooler for bedtime.

It was so hot today….I was on Lago Lindo in RSF and it was 110. I’ve never seen it that hot….but down in Leucadia (I have a weather station at my house) it only got up to 84.
I saw you leaving the gas station on La Costa! (I think)
We should do a ice-cream social…I sure could use one today!

Btw, this is when a good insulated home REALLY pay off.
Our outdoor temp was 103 yesterday. First floor stayed at 82 until the evening, then got to 83. Second floor was at 83, got to 84 in the evening time. AC went on at around 8 pm for about 15 minutes to bring the temp down 5 degree.

@Ocrenter
do you also have an attic fan? Whenever I get around to buying a house, that will be the first upgrade I make. Along with the double pane windows, of course.

we’re going to get attic fan installed this year. I think that’s essentially going to eliminate the little AC use that we already use as currently all of our AC use actually occur at night.
I’ve been looking at solar as well. the federal tax credit goes to 2016. so I figure I can wait another 2-3 years, hopefully see some additional price decline, and go for a system that would cover the top tier of my electric use. the SDGE bill jump from 15c and 17c per kwh to 27c/29c per kwh after 451 kwh. a system that just eliminate any usage past 451 kwh would prob be a lot more economical.
