The “marine layer” seems to be underway, where the overcast struggles to burn off every day.
Kevin Collins captured it well with this photo, from San Clemente looking south, taken 6/12/08:
Our beach area is socked in with fog/overcast from late spring to early summer. If you are thinking of selling a view home, this is not the time to do it. If you must, lay out view photos from a clear day to help buyers visualize the impact.
If you are buying and cringe at the thought of not seeing the sun for a couple of months (at least), then you may want to move 2-3 miles inland.
Good point. Goes back to what Jim said a few weeks ago about pools on the coast–pure decorative pieces but for 3 months out of the year. In the meantime, folks along the 15 corridor are already having pool parties this past week.
I grew up at the beach and BOY do I NOT miss the marine layer!! There are actually a few things I don’t miss about it, but that’s another story. 🙂 I’ve been extremely happy in my Mira Mesa home for the last nearly-four years. (Wow, it’s been that long already?)
But with that said, even Mira Mesa is socked in this morning as well. 🙁
Already making plans to escape the heat here, in the 100’s last 3 days running. Can’t wait, bring on the gloom.
If you don’t mind cooler weather, March and early April is usually fine too.
