California Attorney General Kamala Harris, who dropped out last week from talks aimed at wringing a huge settlement from banks accused of foreclosure abuses, remains open to a deal if it involves “a stronger proposal” from lenders, according to a person familiar with the situation.
Ms. Harris would consider a deal that is stronger than the one currently on the table, said one person familiar with her thinking. She “would closely evaluate any proposal” presented to her,”and is open to hearing a stronger proposal from the banks,” this person said.
Last Friday, the California attorney general called the terms being discussed at the time “inadequate.” Ms. Harris said she was being asked for a “broader release than we can accept” and cited a “troubling surge in foreclosures” in California.
A spokesman for Ms. Harris said her office is “pursuing a broad mandate to investigate the foreclosure process.”

I liked it until I saw the power pole. Needs work, but mostly cosmetic.

Esthetics, or voodoo health fear?
I don’t like the look.
