Remember Dave from Arkansas and his dream list?
He has a sense of humor, but he is serious about moving to California! He used Google Maps to scour the coast for view homes, so when they arrived we started with his Pacific Beach list:

Good luck Dave!
$1.4M for that location is insane. It is baja La Jolla (La Jolla Schools) but in reality it’s still PB. Add in the proximity to that apartment complex (those ugly garage/storage units are right in your front yard) and it pretty much negates the view premium.
They started out at $1.85 back in ’09, so in their mind they are already discounting it; going to be tough to low ball ’em (probably).
The kitchen is the only really objectionable thing about the house itself. Even in 1991, was pink tile really all the rage? I’m a little bit more forgiving of the bluish tiles in the bathroom–turquoise and aqua have been very big the past few years, and it makes a lot of sense in a beach house.
The cabinets are dated all over the house. I do like the divided upper shelves on the built-in bookcase–that’s practical and interesting to look at.
And maybe I’m in an early 90s time-warp, but I like the floors and the overall shape of the house (minus all the weird mini-stairs, of course).
Well, we was glad to meet Jim. His comments on folks from Arkansas was a bit fretting, tho.
Yes, Jim, I do brush my tooth, so stop asking.
I thought you San Diego residents would recognize this for what it will become in another year or two:

Our very own Made in Canada Housing Bubble; now you Yanks don’t have to feel so alone, we’ve got one too!
PS: $5 Bucks (Canadian) says this “investor” is flat broke by the time the snow melts next spring.
My friend is closing on this house in a day or two.
