    Those 34 (I counted) houses on Coronado between the Ferry Landing and NAS North Island are my favorite homes in all of SoCal. . .If I won the “super” lottery, that is where I would head. I often kayak over there from downtown, and marvel at their infinity pools, etc. What a view, and if things get ugly, the Navy is right there to protect you.

    Visited the USS Intrepid a few years ago while in NYC. Man are those aircraft carriers ever HUGE!

    Funny. I look at it the other way. If things get ugly then the Navy base becomes a target. Maybe that just makes me feel better about not being able to afford a house in Coronado.

    Learning to surf is a great way to have ocean front views for the rest of your life without spending 3 mil. to get them.

    While I used to love sailing San Diego Bay, that experience has been overshadowed by the local Coast Guard command that has way too much stimulus money and little to do with it but harass taxpayers. It’d be nice if they’d do more offshore patrols for real crime. However, the bay is a shootin’ gallery a la the old Southern towns’ sheriff behind the billboard.

    Glad the Uber-zealous SD Coast Guard didn’t stop and shake you down (been there) or run you over with one of their 9 zillion horsepower poor visibility boats that have no purpose being on that bay.
