    I don’t get that price: $1.850m–seriously?

If you look at the LPs of the other homes in proximity then it doesn’t seem quite as insane. When JtR said something along the lines of paying for the dirt I think he meant it.

Trips me out that this went for $450k about 16 years ago.

Well there it is; a new pump house, two public tennis courts, and 40+ trains a day in your front yard. No wonder it’s $1,850,000!

    Thanks kbeachguy!

Wow! Just wow. Being just up the coast in the OC, I am usually in the ballpark on pricing down there. Watching this video, I was thinking 6s or 7s.

Now that I’ve mapped it, the price makes a bit more “sense”.

There are only two areas in the OC where I think you may be able to get that asking price for a non-waterfront location, Newport’s Balboa Island and parts of Balboa Peninsula (though the lot you’d get would be half the size in either location).

It looks like the location of that house is a similar prime beach area.

    1.85M?!?!?!

So it’s not insanity when the entire neighborhood is involved? Must be great to be a rich lemming.

“So it’s not insanity when the entire neighborhood is involved?”

The difference between insanity and religion is the number of believers.

    @ NateTG: +1. True that.

Walking distance to the race track. Rent it for $10,000 per week for the entire meet. Have your investment back in no time! Cheap – I’ll take 2.

Lousy parking during good weather. Forget inviting friends over for a BBQ. Also, doesn’t this area get inundated periodically?

That gorgeous property for 1.85 million with a sewer pumping station thrown in for good measure. Lovely. I no longer wonder why they think we’re crazy in California…….

I wouldn’t pay more than $1.84M for that property. Good grief….
