For those looking forward:

I take it the house was staged since the closets were empty? Many nice classic touches, but I’m not sure of the foil wallpaper in the kitchen. Was that marketed back in the day to those that leaned toward wearing foil hats to keep out the cosmic rays?
Recent comp with ocean view sold for $950,000 and 700 sq ft larger, this property overvalued http://www.redfin.com/CA/Carlsbad/4143-Sunnyhill-Dr-92008/home/3695586
Thanks for the shot.
It’s not the same view though.
Paid $63,000 in 1974.
Speaking of housing, Cramer said Bank of America owns the most houses in the U.S. Admittedly, that was a result of some pretty bad underwriting.
Regardless, though, this so-called shadow inventory will turn into a boon in 2011 as job growth gives rise to housing demand, and BofA serves as home supplier to the nation.
Nice view, how much is the view premium there now days? BTW, good luck on the trustee sale flip in OB.

Probably mostly has to do with them winning the honor of buying Countrywide.
“Ignore that.”
What? The POWER STATION with the HUGE SMOKESTACK? 🙂
That home is definitely suItable for someone who’s into sunsets. One thing I would change however is the kitchen. It’s way too retro for my taste.
I trust your judgment, but I’m surprised to see a bidding war on an outdated house, east of the 5, at well over $400/sq ft. That’s quite a view premium. I wonder how many of the bids will be lowball.
let us know how it proceeds…
And it still would require over $100k in work. And I would want a master suite for over a mil.
