JTR – Not being on LJ Farms road I cannot get my arms around a $4mm number. On LJ Farms you can have neighbors/comps that justify a big land value ($10mm+ estate is justifiable in the right context).
However, that street, albeit beautiful, doesn’t compare.

My 3 cents.
I know a guy in Minnesota that shares a driveway with the neighbor. He grumbles about it constantly. It’s probably not as bad a thing to do in California but I wouldn’t want to do it.
I like the outside of the house. If the foundation is OK, I’d compare the price of gutting the inside/redesign vs. tear-down (sadly probably pretty close).
They bought in 1992 for almost 900k and the current asking is 4 million and they got foreclosed? Sad.
I’d say that view is prime though.

This is the way to go on La Jolla Farms Road….one of my favorite homes.
I’ve personally been in the one to the right of the mansion with the security house and the huge gate with the vines all over it. This one is more modern and the views are spectacular. I saw it while it was under construction and after and I loved it! It’s a huge piece of property and from that moment, I decided La Jolla Farms Road is where I want to be if I could be anywhere in San Diego County…haha.

But now the “Razor”, featured in AD, is listed for $25,000,000. They need to make it more realistic in terms of livability and that kitchen needs to be finished.
What do you guys think it’ll sell for? I’m guessing $19,000,000
You weren’t kidding when you said claustrophobic. The sharp angles, tight hallways and slanted ceilings make for a very uncomfortable home setting.
Was that a motorhome in the sunset shot? I could probably afford that! :p

@ a neighbor – Stunning home. Remarkable view. Love the infinity pool and all the curves. Interesting reference to the Cinerama Dome. Wasn’t that theatre in Orange at the junction of the 57, 5, and 22 fwys?

Teardown? Wow…maybe reconfigure the walls inside, but teardown is pretty excessive, IMHO.
What an incredibly depressing, oppressive feeling home…I can feel it’s bad energy even through the video.
I love watching the extra funky bomber freak show, especially the ending SOL dip…
I would never hike that canyon unless I was wearing my snake gaiters.
