A little ahead of my day, but I’ve just gotta say it–“Those were the days!” Nice, simple fun! Did anyone happen to notice how much thicker base of the bluffs looked–it has been eroding at a tremendous rate–I can’t imagine in another 30-40 years! I’ll stay a bit inland thanks.
Great posting, Jim. Man, southern California used to be so magical — very much a feeling of unlimited possibilities. You can still find these sort of local events . . . in Australia.

Long before my time. But in my minds eye when I look at Oceanside, Carlsbad etc etc you can really imagine that it was special back in the day.
