The Carlsbad Beach Fest is a free one-day family event open to public with its main goal to support and promote the stewardship and protection of our beaches, the marine environment, and coastal waterways.
The 2010 Carlsbad Beach Fest is the 3rd annual event which seeks local organizations and businesses who share the values of grass roots volunteer efforts, community involvement, and resource management.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday May 1st, from 10am to 3pm at Frazee Beach, located at the intersection of Carlsbad Boulevard (Coast Highway 101) and Pine Avenue:

I wish the county would use some of our tax dollars to improve the coastline instead of some of the whack-ass projects they take on that never come to fruition! Every time I go to Stater Bros the clerk asks me if I want to donate a dollar to imnprove Carlsbad beaches, I just cringe!
Our country is probably going to need a lot more beach cleanup in the near future…
….especially if the teachers keep striking in San Clemente. The beaches were packed last week while your tax payer teachers hit the streets. They always told me that white collar striking is called quitting your job. I can’t imagine owning a business and having my workers refuse to show up, yet I can’t fire them.

The sand sculpture is very cool….created again this year for the Beach Fest. I have been walking there for years, so don’t miss much, Saw a black convertible, about 1969 parked along 101… 502 Chev Camaro…..sorry JTR…it wasn’t for sale…dang! I would have got the number for me…I mean you.
It’s easy for individuals to just do a small bit and make a huge impact. I like the couple who said that every time they visit the beach they pick up a few pieces of trash they see. If everyone could just to that small task the world would be a much cleaner place.
I attended the first 2 Carlsbad Beach Fest events and this latest one was off the charts in comparison! I estimate that the attendance was around 3000 people, maybe more. There was definitely a lot of positive energy down there yesterday. It’s a testament to what we can do when we work together – regardless of the economic situation, government budgets, politics, personalities, etc.
