Another change is the camera – from a point and shoot to the digital SLR that my wifey would like to have.

Amazing how much the SD real estate market has changed in a year (2009 to now)

    Good on you Jim.

    Al,

Just so you know, I bought the D90 by accident.

I was on my way to my eldest daughter’s final dance recital, and I had dropped my little camera the day before.

I whip into Costco to replace it, and spent about 20 mintues trying to get some help with opening the case. Then I get to the checkout, and because my membership card was about a dozen years old, the entire operation came to a standstill, while every employee in the store had to come gawk at my relic.

I tried to plead my case, that I’m still an active member, but wifey has the new card. Not good enough of course, go stand in a different line for a replacement.

I’m running out of time, so I sprint out to the parking lot and race over to Best Buy.

I had just spent $400 each on two photo shoots for listings, so when junior pitched me on the SLR that had a video attachment, I grabbed it out of his hands and went straight to the cashier’s – where I found out how much it cost.

I was out of time, and my daughter was worth it.

I have since dropped the D90, breaking the lens, so I got the 18-200 which cost me my lunch money for the rest of the year. Wifey was ticked – wait until she finds out that I bought a car!

Fannie Mae has decided that certain distressed borrowers who agree to give up their homes as an alternative to foreclosure should get a second chance at homeownership sooner.

The policy change, announced Wednesday, is meant to reward borrowers for cooperating with their loan servicers and to support the housing market.

The government-sponsored enterprise told lenders that for borrowers who grant a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure, it will shorten the minimum waiting period to be eligible for a new Fannie mortgage.

Currently such consumers must wait at least four years. Beginning with applications submitted July 1, the period will drop to two years, provided the borrower puts at least 20% down on the new home.

Wonderful, absolutely wonderful! Good job. Don’t know how I missed it (must’ve been hard-working on the “money-pit”), but thx for reposting it. If I missed it, I’m sure others did as well.

“But I need the electronics and new car for my job honey.”

    Every man’s argument….

“Wifey was ticked – wait until she finds out that I bought a car!” (JtR)

Com’on, Jim, you can tell me! What car did you buy? *Chuckle* It’s just you and me. No one else has to know…

  9. François Caron

Post a video of the car BEFORE you tell your wife! It’ll give us at least a chance to see it!

And if she does kill you, can I have the REO Speedwagon? 🙂

  10. tj & the bear

Hey, the car’s not personal, it’s a business expense! 😉

Can’t wait to see the new ride; will it be “pimped out”? LOL

What car did you get Jim?

I’m guessing he’ll switch from the Merc S series (I think that’s what he’s flogging now) to the Beemer 700 series.

    I want a man cave!

I dunno…I like JtR’s version with the rainbow interlaced screen and the ghost image of a lamp on the left…. 🙂
