It looks like a tweeker was practicing their construction skills on that out building.Nothing like a little fertilizer for the trees.Hopefully none of the sewage ended up on the neighbors property.
Jim, what do you think of the new appraisal rules?

Yikes! I can almost smell it listening to your descripters Jim.
There’s something very suspicious about that place, even more suspicious than the place that was used as a nursing home. I have a few ideas of what it was used for, and some of those uses scare the heck out of me.
I’m guessing this was a whore house, although it could just be cheap housing for a whole bunch of people. The main house didn’t look too bad, although YouTube isn’t in Smell-O-Vision, so I guess we don’t get the full effect.
Seriously, $20k demo and $10k disposal and $5k permits to end up with a “scrapper” with legacy permitting for 1200 sf.? This is definitely a “why bother” property.

That’s a clown house if I ever saw one. Another place that the first “improvements” I’d make would be from the controls of a bulldozer.
p.s.: Thank heaven we don’t have “smell-o-vision”!

Wow. This could be the new low mark, Jim. That toilet-to-yard system was pretty amazing, in a bad way.

Where’s that bulldozer??? With all that mold the lender should call Willie’s Wrecking Service asap. A lot cheaper in the long run.

Looks like a great place to create a cult compound. The “No money down, free and clear, make your millions in real estate” cult.
It says the lot is a quarter acre, which sounds right. For grins, check out the Redfin listing, and check out the Google Street View. Now count the number of vehicles parked in front yard (well, the stone area). I see three vehicles on the stone area and three in the front driveway-six total. There also appear to be two guys working on one of the vehicles at the time Google took the picture.

I’m going to buy a home in Vista that’s in need of no repairs and spray water all over the inside of it with a hose, fill it with 10 cats and food for them to eat, then lock it up for 2 months and wait. The second phase will be to spend a couple thousand to get a cement truck to randomly poor cement all over the backyard and have some kids play in it till it starts to set. I may dig a cave under the house and put a porta-potty in it which would be used to support the foundation. I will then re-list it for 100k more than it could possibly be worth. I’ll be rich I tell ya!

That pretty much takes the cake, Jim. Definitely looks worse than the “nursing home” in La Costa.
Maybe worth $25K? 😉

My god, that’s the ugliest house I’ve ever seen. This is a new record for you, Jim!
About the $179,000… if I decide to take the house, do I have the pay that amount, or do they pay me?

Jim,
You should donate these films to a university somewhere. Check out anthropology depts. In the future (if we still have electricity), people will want to know why our country fell apart.

Jim,
I like your brutally honest videos and approach to real estate. I think you should do more videos and analysis of coastal North County. That market hasn’t fallen much in price and I think it would be interesting to get your analysis on homes and condos along the coast (Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas etc) that are in excellent shape but have unrealistic owners who are still overpricing their units in this economy. I think the market west of I-5 needs a dose of Jim the Realtor.

You’re a brave man Jim, I wouldn’t go near that place, even commenting or posting about it is iffy. Who knows how many diseases, chemicals, molds, bacteria, viruses that place has and how many fbi/dea/nsa/etc. watchlists that place is on.

Jim, definitely the best selection of worst property ever. Just curious, what made you drive over and view that property? Is it infamous in realty circles and you were just itching to see it?

Ginger, There’s no way any Irishmen or women lived in that place, so why make such an offensive comment? In any case, the Irish built half of New York back in the day. I was swinging a hammer when I was four…

Its not a house, its an estate with separate guest quarters. Tear down may not be sufficient to rid the smell. If someone wants to build anew, they may want to try the “burn down” method.
