It’s going to be a long night in Bonsall….

Day Two starts out quiet, and with no wind:

The Murrieta Fire is growing fast as well.

An old friend resided in an apartment house near the beach in Ventura. He awoke to smoke in the early morning hours of Tuesday and barely escaped with his life. He got out with only the clothes on his back, his cell and car. He lost everything else. The 60-apartments burned to the ground. Another friend shared that her sister lost her home in the gorgeous little town of Ojai.

I use to live in Santa Barbara County. One of my favorite places! The whole coast area (including San Diego) is such a beautiful area. My heart goes out to all affected…

Brings to mind that prior vid Jim posted of those idiot hipsters driving around in the middle of the fire in the Ventura area.

Many of the homes and commercial building there were constructed before 1970. That means asbestos is likely in the air mix. Asbestos isn’t like smoking, where some can do it and live to be 100. If you breath asbestos, you die, from lung cancer. Usually, things are never that simple, but this time it is. So the kid driving around acting like he’s starring in an action adventure movie, is somewhat likely to be breathing in asbestos particulate. I don’t know if burning asbestos renders it relatively inert, or makes it worse, but chances are pretty good that unburned asbestos is floating around.

Good Rule: If you can’t eat it, don’t breath it. Also, anything burned, is carcinogenic. Anything. If you live around a fire area and are safe, drive down to Costco and get one of those Blue Air purifiers. It’s better than nothing, and you don’t need to be breathing that stuff over and over in your house. Especially if you have older folks, or kids around.

What now for the developers who are trying to rezone the land and build 2,000-3,000 unit tract home communities in north county?

Any chance their high density plans will be approved?
