Wheeler J. Bailey House

Yesterday I had the distinct pleasure of touring the Wheeler J. Bailey house in La Jolla, thanks to reader Curt who introduced me to the gracious owners, Dave, Marlene, and Jean.

The house was built in 1907 by Irving Gill and Frank Mead – for more history, click here:

  1. nice crib. Is it for sale?

  2. No but house two doors up is listed for $7.9 million for 2,600sf built about the same time.

  3. Let me check the couch for loose change… ;-)

  4. Nice photos Jim. Glad you could see the house on a sunny day. I feel honored when I visit Dave and Marlene to be able to stay in such a piece of San Diego history.

  5. Very nice. One perk we in the biz have is seeing this kind of stuff once in a while. Not often, not many places are this well designed and built in any era.
