How long before sellers let buyers stay overnight? From HW:
Realtor.com and Airbnb have teamed up to allow potential homebuyers to “live like a local” by experiencing a specific neighborhood before purchasing.
Visitors to realtor.com will be able to book accommodations nationwide on Airbnb ranging from single-family homes to condos, lofts and other properties located near their desired neighborhood.
Consumers who visit realtor.com to look at homes in new neighborhoods can select the option to “Airbnb before buying.”
I think it’s a great idea. Especially to determine what traffic will be like during the week to get to/from work.
We’ve thought of going the hotel route close to our desired neighborhood, but if we could find an actual house/condo in the actual neighborhood, even better.
Lets us see what the neighborhood vibe is like. Especially on weekend nights.
It’s an idea that is past due, and don’t be surprised if sellers and listing agents are reluctant about including it as part of the deal.
You’d have to Airbnb the neighborhoods beforehand.
But for those sellers who have nothing to hide, they should offer to accommodate, especially in a vacant house – it could make the difference!
Eddie, you hit the nail on the head…………imagine if your commute took 20 minutes longer than originally anticipated!
