I love the front porch, a very southern look. Although the part of the house you see from the street with that one window is kind of ugly. Would be prettier if maybe the window was bigger?
Also, the kitchen looks smallish? At least for the sq footage of the house. I kept thinking of how it would be to have a party and entertain and it looks like people would be bumping into each other.
BUT, the mudroom is wonderful, and they have TWO laundry rooms in the house? NICE!

I don’t know – it doesn’t really look and feel like a $950,000 house. Anyway, I personally can’t stand those bowl sinks. Out out out.
Ditto on those vessel sinks, they’re awful. That, and mismatched kitchen cabinets. Nothing is gonna outdate your home faster. They’re today’s version of the ’70s wood paneling, popcorn ceilings and harvest gold appliances!
With that floorplan,’modular’ is the least of that home’s issues.

A lot of stuff in the house seemed like it was layed out a little strangely. For example, the bench seat with the back to the sink in the kitchen… Maybe it’s the whole modular thing on the brain, but it felt a little like all the rooms belonged in different houses.
Layout and fixtures are the least of the problems.
Get a load of that freeway noise INSIDE the house. Train noise is fleeting, and I even like it. Freeway noise is constant and permanent.

Indeed. I liked just about every individual part of this house, but it comes together really strangely. There are way too many different kinds of finish and color. It doesn’t cohere.
The whole house seemed disjointed. I agree that the modular construction isn’t the #1 concern. I didn’t like the different cabinets, all the different colors, etc.
It just didn’t feel like a home I’d want to come home to. And with the constant freeway noise, that would be a deal breaker for me on top of all the other concerns (including too high priced).
Given the crummy construction of so many California houses, modular might be a step up.
Was there a laundry room next to the garage, and another one upstairs?
