My Mom joined my Dad in heaven yesterday. She lived a full and complete 90 years – we made sure of that!
More than anything, what she enjoyed the most was being our Mom.
Like me, she married her sweetheart from her fraternity-sorority days. They met at Cal in the 1950s when things were normal there, and had four kids in 6.5 years, which seemed fairly normal then too.
Raising us was a challenge but nothing she couldn’t handle.
My Dad’s passing in 2010 was tough, but she carried on and enjoyed another solid 15 years with family and being Clare!
She is survived by her four kids, eight grandkids, and a 5-month old great-grandkid.
I love you Mom!
What a wonderful tribute!
Thanks Doc – she was a wonderful lady and a friend to all.
Very happy to know her and Grandad are reunited! We will miss her greatly
Jim, sorry for your loss. It’s hard at any age. My condolences to you and your family.
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. She sounds like an amazing person who lived life to the fullest.
Our sincerest condolences to the Klinge family.
We are both are that age when our parents, aunts, uncles, etc., are passing. It is not easy. Sincerest prayers for you and all she touched.
“They met at Cal in the 1950s when things were normal there” is a gem. Any epitaph that can evoke a laugh is helps with moving forward.
Living to see a great grand kid is a rare treasure.
So sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my dad last year too. He was 97 and passed at home with my mom and brother by his side. While he is greatly missed, I console myself realizing he lived a full and beautiful life. I hope your family feel the same.
Thank you everyone for your warm thoughts – I appreciate.
Yes Peter, the 90-year mark is quite the accomplishment. We can’t think of anyone else in our families who made it to 90 – except her brother Tom, who is 92 now!
Can you imagine? Brother and sister BOTH make it to 90!
I am graced with adjudicating my late aunt’s wishes. Never die in Philadelphia. 15% and then apply inheritance taxes.
Jim,
Sorry to hear of your mother Clare’s passing. 90 blessed years. Glad to hear she got her “Promotion to glory” surrounded by loved ones. Rest in peace.

Jim and Donna,
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved mother. At 90, she truly lived a full and beautiful life, filled with love and cherished memories. We hope you find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with your Dad and at peace. John has fond memories of both of them from my childhood during family visits to Southern California.
Please send our thoughts and prayers to both of your daughters, Charles and his family, and the families of your other siblings.
With heartfelt sympathy,
John, Shelly, Spencer, and Garrett Klinge
Ah, sweet tribute to your mom. And dad.
Loss is aways difficult.
How lucky to have been able to enjoy her for so many years, and for her to see her family grow.
From the Klinges I know she did a wonderful job of raising her family.
