An old classic in Mission Hills that has a lot of appeal, but may come up short for those looking for the complete package:

Jim, you should show $psf on every video.

I rode by that house today and thought it looked great from the outside. I was going to check it out on Redfin…but thanks for a much better tour.

love the full dimension lumber. you cannot get that these days unless you find a small mill to cut it special for you.

All the lumber these days has gotten a lot thinner. 3/4″ plywood is like .707″ thick. Even fencing material has shrunk to 5/8″ think n most cases. Anything to save a buck on costs.

Did you guys know there is now a 1% lumber tax in CA on top of sales tax?

Thanks Jim for the tickets to yesterday’s Padres vs Giants game at Petco we won in your contest this summer. Great seats right at Giants dug out, had a great time with the family

Speaking from experience with an old house…

If you like the look this is the kind of place you want to buy. New pipes, original wood, new water heater, no foundation problems, and a real basement.

    Not sure about the price.

The only negative I saw was the kitchen.

Guess I’m getting old Jimbo. $1 Mil for this place? No closet space, no stand alone shower, questionable 70’s upgrades(?) and on a busy street to boot. Not in this lifetime for me.

How many do you want? My MIL lives in the “queen of of the teens” meaning late 1900-pre1920 Craftsman. This is in 93030 and I can show you two dozen of these that you’d be unable to tell the differences from your listing.

Side note: Congratulations on the graduation. Honestly, seeing a kid do that is better than almost anything.

Clearly this is a professional office conversion opportunity.

That’s typical of the area for low end. At the upper end you have near mansions by turn of the century standards. The airport corridor is circa 200 block south. The mayor lives about four houses north.

Progeny update. The oldest after three years at UCLA graduated and moved back home. Saving a ton of money. Hardy notice she’s here. Middle is the UC Davis’ newest bus driver ad sophomore. The baby is a freshman and on the golf team at HS and as tall as me. Time flies.
