    nice granite

How is granite usually cut for the end user? Never have had it done myself and always wondered. Is it customary for the consumer to bring in all their measurements and have the granite precut where it is sold? Or is there some kind of tool that you could cut it yourself at the house?

Did you rock out to this song back n the day?

Cutting and finishing granite typically takes some specialized equipment. It’s more than cutting, but also polishing the piece and beveling the edges . I have some family members who do tile and granite work, and they always have the piece arrive finished on site. When I’ve had it done, and everyone I’ve known has the same experience. The cabinets are installed, measurements are taken and then the granite is cut to order. Actually,it’s the same experience I’ve had when glass is fabricated. I don’t think that contractors can build to tight enough tolerances for the glass and granite which is why measurements happen after the build.

Wow, that is one heck of a retaining wall! We paid a small fortune for our easy 3-4 foot retaining walls. Would hate to get the bill on that monster! Is this even earthquake safe?
