Resto Verano + Chula

These REOs are coming from two different sources so they don’t all qualify for HomePath financing.  But after seeing a few of them, I think we’ll be able to draw one conclusion – Fannie Mae got stuck with the worst of the worst:

Great video Jim. It’s good to see your professionalism rising to the top. Let me know when you get something assigned in the RB/ Poway area.

BTW, I looked at the Verano condos when they first opened. The in house realtor was the rudest person I’d met in a long time. When I was finally able to get a walkthrough of the demo unit all I could think was this is a high end college dorm room. Which isn’t a bad thing if the price was right. At the time it wasn’t.

At least you got one of the redecorated ones that doesn’t back to the freeway. The renters at the time these were converted from apartments were offered the chance to buy their unit as-is and very tired looking for less.

The park that these are built against is nice for a walk.

“Stink-o-meter” – ha! I wonder if I can get one at Harbor Freight?

Death from above huh? Can’t help but think “you can’t fix the neighbor’s plumbing.”

I rented an apartment in UTC area (The Venetian), just before a condo conversion, and just about everything that could leak did.

    1) Hot water pipe in the wall behind the toilet.
    2) Cold water pipe in the wall behind the toilet (just a week or two later)
    3) Kitchen sink drain in upstairs unit leaking into my bedroom.
    4) Storm water collecting on the balcony above, leaking into my leaving room.

    5) And finally, not long before the condo conversion was announced, they decided to dig out the dirt next to all of the below grade apartments (mine was one) and put in a retaining wall. A big storm came along, the drain for the newly excavated area clogged up, and the space between the retaining wall and the wall of my apartment filled with water. It seeped through the wall and soaked the living room carpet.

At that point, I told them I wanted out of my lease, and they didn’t argue.
