How can you protect your home from the erosion that will eventually take place? Won’t the Coastal Commission not allow you to build anything?

Honestly, I would NEVER consider building anything that close to a steep cliff next to a body of flowing water. Mother Nature has its own ideas on “landscaping”, and there’s not a thing you can do to stop it.

I recall in North Carolina they would pump thousands of pounds of sand on the beach around this one hotel. But after a couple of years of that I believe the hotel was eventually lost.

What they should do is have buildings on rails and then move them closer/further away from the beach as needed.

    Ooops…a storm is coming…move away.

    Ooops…errosion is coming…move away.

    Nice sunny calm day…move closer.
