Oregon is awesome, but damned if Washington State isn’t giving them a helluva game…

New neighbors hung a strange-to-me (huge) flag in front of their home a few weeks ago. After driving by quite a few times, I realized it was a University of Oregon flag…

One of my nephews is an Oregon alum and, like most who go there, a RABID fan. Fun times.

Was talking to my wife the other day and she didn’t believe me that the Oregon Duck was basically Donald Duck. Then a great article showed up in the NYT:
I always wondered why the duck mascot was so rare outside Eugene! And yes, it’s a great football school, starting with the placement of the stadium. That’s how to get everyone fired up.

Nobody wants to mess with Phil Knight!
The Nike influence is everywhere in Eugene, and all positive. The stadium is incredible too, with very little room between the field and stands.
