Let’s go back to high school and those heavy-guitar days with Trower’s best lineup. You could select any song off his landmark album Bridge of Sighs, released in 1974, but I picked this one for the “guitar faces” beginning at the 0.58-minute mark:
Though he was left off Rolling Stone’s list of Top 100 Guitarists (a travesty) Trower is revered throughout the industry, has released 45 albums, and he is still playing today at age 68!
There are guitar players you recognize after 2 chords are played. Trower is one of them.
He played during the heyday of heavy metal, so may not have got his due, but he was, as you say Jim, one of the best.
