Tom is coming right along on his major remodel in Bay Park – the photo at the right was taken since Friday’s video (click to enlarge).
Tune in Monday night, February 13th at 8pm when Tom joins me on Blog Talk Radio right here at bubbleinfo.com.
We will be discussing his strategies for finding properties, where he gets his design ideas, the process of remodeling, and the specific strategy of how to sell for top dollar.
There is a funky thing about Blog Talk Radio.
They don’t have any code for leading into the shows – the listening button just goes live at 8:00pm with no notice. So if you tune in a few minutes early and don’t see any place to click to listen, wait until 8:00 on the dot, and it will suddenly appear – and we’ll be rocking!
Also visit Tom’s blog here:
I’m looking forward to it, Tom has such a passion for what he does it should be a real treat.
Hey Tom, your MCM is looking fantastic.
How about something like the pattern of the wall tiles between the liners in this pic, only turned sideways and run up a section of the shower wall for a bit of a midcentury feel?

Original 50’s bathroom. The colors, amount of tile, and the terrazzo floor are obviously too extreme. 😀
Tom, check out this shower head!

Other ideas… glass tile, perhaps in larger sizes?

Thanks you guys: )
I’m seeing 2 paths with the tile now. One might be too risky for resale but its the true MCM repro mosaic blends from sites like Modwalls.com. There’s even one that was designed by Atomic Ranch magazine! These glass mosaics are multi-color and very bold, maybe not for the faint of heart. Guys are even doing these mosaics on the floor. There are a few that look very similar to the original stuff we took out.
The second and safer path is maybe a small amount of the mosaic to stay true and then larger frosted glass tiles which IMO look cleaner and more modern, not set brick pattern. I think this is what I have to do is inject more modern into the design and not try and do a complete retro look. There are some larger ones I like that are 4 x 12″… Maybe 12×24″ Dark grey porcelain on the floor. I’ve got to order this week so I’ll let you know what I pick. Thanks for the help guys!
ps, I saw that shower head too. Very spacey! There are tons of ideas if you go to Google Images for Mid Century Modern Design, Tile or bathrooms etc.
Hi Tom
Take a look at http://www.annsacks.com. Her art tile collection…particularly
Heath or Gotham. Expensive..yes,..but maybe you can draw off some
inspiration. Good luck on the project.

I bet Tom sleeps well @ night!
What better occupation than remodeling a home for a new family that will be there for generations? (Of course, I’m prejudice as my late husband was the best finish carpenter on the planet).
Keep up the good work, Tom! I love your passion! It’s so fun to watch the project unfold. Can’t wait to see the video when the house is finished…
