I was on the 15 the other day while they were rehearsing…simply amazing. But I must say it is a road hazard b/c I can see so many other drivers taking their eyes off the road!

We went a few years ago and afterward it took just under 2 hours to get out of the parking lot. Fun show though!

One of my favorite memories involves the Blue Angels. Spent a whole day walking around the city of San Francsico on an unusual warm clear blue day. From Fort Mason we made our way along the water front to a dog beach beyond Crissy Field, near the base of the Golden Gate bridge. We sat and watched them practice over the bay for several hours. Which, as it turns out, is even more spectacular than watching the air show. Later, as we made our way back into the city, they would fly overhead between the tall buildings. You would hear them, and everyone on the street would stop and look up, just in time to get a glimpse all in a rush.
That day was made unusual for another reason besides perfect weather and Blue Angels. On that same day, the Hub was dubbed “the family hero”. Prior to the Blue Angels showing up, he chased and tackled a purse snatcher in the park at Fort Mason. Which was quite a thrill for a middle aged out of shape guy. There’s plenty more to the story. I’ll just say, it was quite a day.
