We have known Jim & Donna Klinge for over a dozen years, having met them in Carlsbad where our children went to the same school. As long time North County residents, it was a no- brainer for us to have the Klinges be our eyes and ears for San Diego real estate in general and North County in particular. As my military career caused our family to move all over the country and overseas to Asia, Europe and the Pacific, we trusted Jim and Donna to help keep our house in Carlsbad rented with reliable and respectful tenants for over 10 years.
Naturally, when the time came to sell our beloved Carlsbad home to pursue a rural lifestyle in retirement out of California, we could think of no better team to represent us than Jim and Donna. They immediately went to work to update our house built in 2004 to current-day standards and trends — in 2 short months they transformed it into a literal modern-day masterpiece. We trusted their judgement implicitly and followed 100% of their recommended changes. When our house finally came on the market, there was a blizzard of serious interest, we had multiple offers by the third day and it sold in just 5 days after a frenzied bidding war for 20% above our asking price! The investment we made in upgrades recommended by Jim and Donna yielded a 4-fold return, in the process setting a new high water mark for a house sold in our community.
In our view, there are no better real estate professionals in all of San Diego than Jim and Donna Klinge. Buying or selling, you must run and beg Jim and Donna Klinge to represent you! Our family will never forget Jim, Donna, and their whole team at Compass — we are forever grateful to them.
Actually, it makes me think of this.
From the LA Times (online) 9:27 pm – “Value of California Properties Falls 1.8% to $4.4 Trillion”.

That Davidson Plan 1 in LCO was actually my favorite among them…I realize i have questionable taste and an affinity for arches. 🙂

Not exactly in the same league, but it reminded me of this:

Nothing better than Get Smart.
FYI:
AMT made a model kit of the red 1965 Sunbeam Tiger roadster Smart drove in the opening credits. Complete with a hoard of hidden weapons, it is the only kit of the Tiger and has been reissued multiple times as a stock Tiger. The start of the 1968–69 season put Smart in a light blue Volkswagen Karmann Ghia for the opening credits as Volkswagen became a sponsor of the show;[9] the car never appeared in the show itself (in the short-lived 1995 TV series, Smart is trying to sell that car through the classifieds). In Season 4 (1968/1969) Max continues to drive the Tiger but is also seen driving a blue 1968 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 convertible with a tan interior in the episodes “A Tale of Two Tails” (Episode 7) and “The Laser Blazer” (Episode 10). In Season 5 (1969/1970), Buick became a show sponsor,[9] so he drives a gold 1969 Opel GT with a new phone: a giant rotary telephone dial covering the steering wheel.
In the Black & White pilot episode, Max drives a Ferrari 250 GT Cabriolet. This car was never again seen after the show was picked up.
This one in LCO is interesting:

Walked through it as an open house over a month ago before the second price drop. It has a nice courtyard with bar and kitchen but no ocean view or anything spectacular. It was bought a year ago for $950k, and the sellers were originally asking over $1.25m. They’ve now aggressively dropped the price a third time – obviously looking to dump it. I’m interested to see how this YOY ends up.
That Sito house is kinda cool with that courtyard.
Is that a microwave with a round window in the second picture? That’s kinda cool too.
Oops. Not the second picture, its the fourth picture.
It looks like a microwave with a round window, I haven’t seen one of those before. That’s the outdoor kitchen too, BTW.
Nice photo shop of the balloon

Funny… I actually held the contract on the middle house of the three for about two months until I was recalled to active duty unexpectidly. That was back in Jan-Feb time frame and it’s still not closed. Not sure we would have wanted to wait it out this long anyway…
I’m not looking forward to the search again when I get back. Doesn’t sound like it’s getting any easier.
