So many loving tributes today to the Queen of Soul that I couldn’t help but acknowledge the greatest wife role in the history of film – her appearance in the Blues Brothers (he left anyway):

It is amazing how well The Blues Brothers holds up as a movie over time. The blu-ray version is worth the time to watch.
tragic side story…..the last film Dan Aykroyd and Belushi did together was Neighbors in 1981, 1 year after the Blues Brothers. Belushi was in a literal death spiral with substance abuse and Aykroyd was pleading with John to hang on and sober up because he had the role of a lifetime for John in the works.
That role? Peter Venkman in the Ghostbusters.

Wow! John Belushi as Peter Venkman! He would have killed in that role! Sad how he ended up.

That Blues Brothers movie is one of the few that you can just watch again and again.
