Those 2 100 year houses by the cove are in an interesting situation. The owner/heirs and the historical society are at odds about what to do with them. The owner/heirs want to bulldoze, the historical society is throwing up roadblocks.
So they just sit there deteriorating. Eventually the owner/heirs/trust will win out. But the city is delaying to condemn because once they do the property owners have won.
The historical society should offer to move the houses and let the land owners do what they want. Of course is always easier + cheaper to just be a pita and throw up red tape instead of offering an actual solution.
